Weekend Bridge Courses

Either you are pushed for time, or you live too far away for me to visit on a regular basis in which case all the courses can be taught over a weekend (or a couple of days midweek).

There are two lessons per day, typically one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I am very happy to stay the night if accommodation is offered in which case a lesson can be in the evening instead.

Why not organise a weekend bridge party for friends and get the neighbours involved?

These courses are for a minimum of two people or the equivalent fee. All travel expenses must be met and I hope to be fed and watered too!

Gift Vouchers

Why not buy a someone a Kitchenbridge course!

How often do you struggle to buy that perfect birthday or Christmas gift? What do you buy the person who has everything?

Maybe you have a friend who needs an injection of something new and challenging in their life. Perhaps someone you know is no longer as physically active as they once were and they need some mental stimulation to keep them on their toes!

Buy them a bridge course. I will send you a letter to gift to them which explains what they have been given and what they need to do. An added bonus it that there is no awkward shape to gift wrap!

Supervised Bridge Parties

To be good at anything you need to practise and bridge is no exception.

With this in mind many of my pupils like to organise their own bridge parties with me there assisting all the players as and when they need help with the bidding or playing.

It can be difficult to remember everything you have learned and often it can be weeks before a particular hand is dealt that requires a specific response which you learned a long time ago. I am there to remind you.

Many supervised bridge parties are also organised via the social section of kitchenbridge so please take a look below, alternatively have a look at Supervised Bridge in the courses section.

Corporate

You may be a generous Managing Director and want your staff to take up an interesting and stimulating pursuit or perhaps the owner of a hotel and want to offer a special weekend activity to clients.

Just email me to discuss your idea.

Social

Bridge has given me the opportunity to meet lots of new people many of whom I now count as friends. You may not know many bridge players and would like to play more than you currently do. Clubs can be intimidating and rarely afford the relaxed atmosphere one finds at a bridge party held in someone's home.

Bridge is a social game and can be the great equaliser if people are strangers to each other. You can partner a barrister with a plumber and the barrister will immediately be at their ease. Although the barrister may not know much about u-bends and washers, bridge is what they have in common, and from there a rapport can soon be built.

Kitchenbridge offers the opportunity to play with people of a similar standard to you in an atmosphere of fun and relaxation. Many pupils like to host bridge parties often including dinner or an afternoon tea for up to twelve players. There is a small fee to cover food costs and supervision of play.

If you are interested in attending such an event or you would like to host your own then let me know. I can invite players on your behalf, match up people according to their standard of play and of course supervise the play.

"I regularly host Bridge parties and Barry helps me organise them and then supervises the play so the evening is much more fun and competitive"

"It is great to play with other guests and be able to ask questions throughout the game. We all continually improve our game"
