Barry Farncombe
My name is Barry Farncombe and I teach people on a private basis how to play bridge. All lessons are held in your own home and you can learn on your own or with friends and family. I teach both in London and the Home Counties.
There are also lessons available to download, for those people who want to teach themselves or improve their existing game, without the need to access a teacher, a club or a poorly structured bridge book.
Bridge is both a social game and a competitive sport. Kitchenbridge is all about the social game. For anyone wanting to learn the game, it can be difficult. You must either teach yourself or join a bridge club and commit to a lengthy teaching schedule at a set time for weeks on end. This can be difficult for busy people, and as is often the case, the class may be too large for you to get the individual attention you need. There is also the added dread of peer pressure 'come on, keep up'!
Kitchenbridge solves this problem by coming to you at a time and place that fits in with your schedule. You can learn during the day, the evening or at weekends.
There are courses for the complete beginner right through to advanced play for those who want to play at the top end of the game.
Every game of bridge presents a new challenge and as time goes by, and you learn more and more, so the the game becomes more dynamic and rewarding. Bridge is a game for life and most people become hooked.
For me, the most rewarding aspect of the game is the social scene it offers. I have made many new friends through bridge and I spend many evenings each month with friends playing a game that is both competitive and fun, all helped along by wine and good food.
Whatever course you choose, the emphasis is on fun and informal learning.
Why not take up the challenge?
The game starts when you're ready. Welcome to Kitchenbridge.
